Areas of Expertise
Dr Richard Taylor has been Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at the North London Forensic Service since 2000. He is also responsible for acute male medium secure inpatients, and for the Forensic Consultation Liaison Service. Areas of expertise include mental illness and violence, prison psychiatry, psychiatry and criminal law, and homocide. Research subjects include crime and mental disorder, criminal justice, and secure hospital psychiatry.
He has been responsible for the service development of the Women's Secure Inpatient Service, and has been a visiting Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at HMP Holloway, consultatn for the Camden Forensic Outreach Service based at the Royal Free Hospital, and has provided consultation liaison service to local generic mental health services and criminal justice agencies.
Dr Richard Taylor has been providing medico-legal psychiatric reports for the courts since 1993.
Dr Richard Taylor speaks fluent Arabic, and speaks and writes fluent French, Italian, and Spanish.
